The Beginning of a Dream
Arjun had just completed his graduation in commerce when he decided not to take the conventional route of a corporate job. Unlike his classmates, who lined up at interviews wearing crisp shirts and fake smiles, Arjun had something else in mind.
He had always been fascinated by the colorful banners, posters, and hoardings that decorated his city during festivals, elections, and big events. “If people can spend so much money to get their faces printed on giant posters, why can’t I be the one to make those posters?” he often joked to his friends.
So, with two friends and a second-hand printer, Arjun set up a tiny workshop in a rented corner of an old warehouse. What started as a shaky experiment soon turned into a full-fledged business.
Within two years, Arjun’s company had grown from 2 employees to 12 employees, a proper workshop, and even three small vehicles—taken on loan—to carry out deliveries. By the time he was 27, he had over 70 clients, ranging from local shopkeepers to political leaders.
But beneath the shiny surface, cracks were beginning to show.

The Curse of Seasonality
Arjun’s business had one major drawback—it thrived only on occasions. Birthdays of politicians, elections, cultural festivals, rallies, inaugurations—these were his golden days. But in between? There were long stretches of silence, when the phone wouldn’t ring, and the machines would gather dust.
The rent, EMIs on vehicles, salaries of workers—expenses didn’t stop, even if income did. Arjun would sit in his office staring at the idle machines, frustrated.
One such day, after nearly two weeks without an order, he vented to an elderly uncle from his neighborhood.
“Uncle, I don’t understand! I work so hard, provide premium service, keep my clients happy—then why do I have to suffer these long dry spells? What am I doing wrong?”
The old man smiled gently and asked, “Beta, are you able to feed yourself and your family?”
“Yes, Uncle. That’s not a problem.”
“Then relax. Ups and downs are part of life. Worry only when you cannot afford your bread and butter. Otherwise, accept these phases—they come and go.”
Arjun was stunned. The simplicity of the advice hit him harder than any business lecture ever had. That night, he slept better than he had in weeks.

The Unexpected Encounter
A week later, on yet another dry day, Arjun was heading out with a friend in his car. As he reached the society gate, he noticed an old lady—probably in her mid-eighties—sitting alone on a bench.
Her frail frame, wrinkled face, and trembling hands made him pause. She wasn’t a beggar, yet her torn shawl and weary eyes told a story of neglect. He recognized her—she lived in his neighborhood, but her children and grandchildren barely cared for her.
Without thinking too much, Arjun pulled out a ₹100 note and handed it to her.
“Aunty, please keep this. Maybe buy yourself something nice.”
The old lady’s eyes welled up. “Khush raho beta… may you always succeed,” she whispered, her voice trembling yet filled with sincerity.
Arjun smiled, touched her feet, and drove off.

A Call That Changed Everything
Barely thirty minutes later, his phone buzzed.
“Hello, is this Arjun Advertising?” a voice asked.
“Yes, speaking.”
“I got your number from someone. I need a big order done—urgent banners and hoardings for an upcoming event. Can we meet today?”
Arjun’s heart skipped a beat. Big orders didn’t usually come on such random weekdays. Controlling his excitement, he agreed and quoted a fair price. To his surprise, the client insisted, “No, we’ll pay you more. Just make sure it’s perfect.”
That evening, Arjun received a 30% advance in cash, enough to cover a month’s expenses.

A Night of Reflection
That night, lying on his bed, Arjun stared at the ceiling fan, his mind racing.
“What changed today? Why did this miracle happen? Was it just coincidence?”
And then it struck him.
Earlier that day, he had given ₹100 to the old lady. And she had prayed for him.
He remembered a saying he had once heard: “If you want your prayers answered, let them come from a tongue that has never committed a sin for you. When others pray for you, their words carry more weight.”
Could it be that her blessings had worked instantly?
Arjun smiled. “Maybe God heard her voice today… not mine.”

The Turning Point
From that day forward, Arjun began to see charity differently. He no longer saw it as a transaction but as a silent exchange of energy—helping someone in need, and in return, receiving their heartfelt prayers.
But unlike flashy donations made to gain social media attention, Arjun preferred to help quietly. He would often slip money into the hands of workers struggling to buy school books for their children, or pay the hospital bills of a poor patient without revealing his name.
His philosophy became simple: Help those who cannot even ask for help.
Humour in the Struggle
Despite his serious growth, Arjun’s journey wasn’t without comic twists.
One time, a politician’s birthday order came in for 500 banners, but the client mistakenly wrote “Happy Wedding Anniversary” on the draft design. When Arjun pointed it out, the assistant scolded him:
“Arjun bhai, aapko kaam karna hai ya grammar teacher banna hai? Lagao bas!”
When the banners went up, the whole city laughed at the politician’s “wedding anniversary.” The politician stormed into Arjun’s office fuming, but eventually burst into laughter himself. “You’ve made me more famous than ever!” he joked, shaking Arjun’s hand.
Such moments lightened the otherwise stressful business.

Suspense and Setbacks
Not every day was easy. Once, during election season, Arjun received a massive order worth lakhs. But just before delivery, the police seized his vehicles, claiming the banners violated code of conduct.
It was a devastating night. Arjun thought his business was finished. But the very next morning, he got a surprise call from a rival politician—who had seen his work and now wanted to give him a bigger, legally compliant order.
Arjun realized something important that day: Every setback can be a setup for a bigger opportunity.
Growth Rooted in Kindness
Over the years, Arjun’s business grew steadily. But whenever people asked him the secret of his success, he never said “hard work” or “strategy.”
He would smile and reply, “Blessings.”
Blessings from strangers, blessings from the old lady, blessings from the workers he secretly helped.
He often recalled that first day, when a simple ₹100 act had changed his destiny.
Legacy Beyond Business
By the time Arjun was 35, he had expanded into digital advertising, employing over 50 people. But he remained the same humble man who would sit with his workers during lunch, crack jokes, and listen to their problems.
One day, his friend teased him, “Arjun, you’re too soft-hearted for business. You’ll never become as rich as the sharks out there.”
Arjun simply smiled. “Maybe not as rich in money. But rich in prayers? I’m already a billionaire.”
And indeed, he was.

Moral of the Story
True wealth is not measured in money but in the blessings you earn through kindness. Help quietly, and the prayers of others will shape your destiny.
