Terms & Condition for Guest Writers

We welcome fresh voices and stories on The Indian Writer. Before submitting your piece via our Google form, please review these important guidelines:

  1. Comply with Google’s Publisher Policies – We will not publish content in categories prohibited by Google. This includes, but isn’t limited to, illegal or abusive material, intellectual‑property violations, dangerous or derogatory content, malicious software, or any content relating to sexual exploitation or child abuse. Content involving regulated or restricted topics—such as pornography, shocking content, weapons, tobacco, recreational drugs, alcohol sales/misuse, gambling, prescription drugs, or unapproved supplements—may also face ad restrictions. Please ensure your submission steers clear of these topics.

  2. Crediting – We believe in acknowledging our contributors. Your name will be credited on our site, along with your bio and social media links if desired. Even if we edit or refine your story or article for clarity or style, you will retain full credit for the work.

  3. Submission Format – Please upload your story or article as a Microsoft Word (.docx) file. Include a clear title and subtitle that are optimized for WordPress formatting (use headings appropriately). Make sure your writing is original and polished.

  4. Word Count – Stories and articles between 1,000 and 3,000 words have a higher chance of being accepted. Industry research shows that long‑form pieces (1,000+ words) help build trust and keep readers engaged, with well‑performing posts ranging from 800 to 3,000 words and an average length around 1,427 words.

  5. Originality and Research – All submissions must be your own work. For non‑fiction pieces (Indian culture, history, spirituality, etc.), we expect thorough research and proper attribution. We cannot accept plagiarized material.

By following these guidelines, you help us keep the site safe, informative, and enjoyable for readers—and you increase the likelihood that your story will be accepted for publication. We look forward to reading your unique perspectives and stories!
